Volunteer Vacancies!
NILS Loans Worker
We are looking for volunteers who have some experience working with people on low incomes in either a community or finance setting. NILS Loans workers will respond to enquiries from the public on the NILS loans scheme, perform loan interviews and make referrals where necessary to additional financial assistance. We have roster vacancies from Tuesdays to Thursdays.
Handyman (or Handywoman!)
If you’re handy with a set of tools, we’d love to hear from you! We’re looking for someone who can do some basic handy work around our community centres that are used by a range of hirers. We’d also love them to be able to help out with our Homestay Department doing some light removalist work when required. Hours are flexible.
Intake and Response Volunteers
This is a specialised volunteer role at PRNC to assess and support those seeking emergency relief. It is suitable for people who have done some studies in social work or have human services experience. It is also suitable for those who are able to pass on financial literacy skills to low income earners. Call us for more details!
Homestay Support Volunteers
Our Homestay program assists those with accommodation issues. Volunteers in this program give practical support to clients such as taking them to appointments, packing boxes for relocation and finding accommodation alternatives.
Kid’s Friends Mentors
Kid’s Friend Mentors give adult role modelling to a child aged between 6-16 years, who may be affected by a range of issues in their household. Volunteers spend a couple of hours each week or fortnight doing enjoyable activities with the child. They must be a minimum age of 20, available outside of school hours and be able to commit to 1 year of volunteering.
Please contact the Volunteer Development Coordinator on 3205 2955 or contact for more details on volunteering at PRNC.
